Poor Gracie, she just can't catch a break for her little ears. She's been on antibiotics for 2 weeks, and this morning we confirmed my suspicion that they aren't doing any good. So, in the hopes of getting her better for our vacation, I agreed to do the antibiotic injections again. I hate to do it, but I think it's her only chance of flying without an ear infection. The shots are really painful (so they tell me), and she has to have them for 3 days in a row. We got the first this morning and we'll go back tomorrow and Friday for the remaining doses. Let's hope she gets some relief!

2 funny stories....
This afternoon Maggie said, "You know what I'm worried about in Heaven?" I said, "no what?" Maggie said, "Running into Goliath." :) How does her brain work??? I assured her that if Goliath was in Heaven God was making sure he behaved.
This afternoon, Amy Ries had a flat tire. Amy and I talked for a VERY brief moment about if we should change it, call AAA, etc. BUT Ben told her to drive one it, so I followed her to the tire store, just in case (I'm not sure what we were going to do if there was a problem, but at least we'd be in it together). Anyway, all the way to the tire store Maggie lectured me. "Mom, we should have changed the tire. It's easy, Grandpa taught me. Grandma has 2 kinds of tires, summer tires and winters tires. You just unscrew it, take the tire off, put the new one on and then screw it on. I could have showed you how. We should have just changed it. Is it still flat? Can we stop and change it? I know how Mom? What, don't you and Amy know how?" take a breath....repeat! Thankfully Norfolk is a small town, so the distants from Amy's to the tire store was only a few miles.....next time I'll just change the tire it would be easier then the lecture!

One more party...
Monday, Maggie had one more Birthday party. She kept calling it her "fake birthday"....since it wasn't on the actual day. She wanted a pool party, so we borrowed Grandma and Pop's pool and had a great time. I was a little worried that it would be chilly, silly me, when did a little cold air stop kids from swimming. They swam and swam and swam....we made them get out and have some dinner and cake, then they begged to get back in....so we let them...and they swam and swam and swam again. I'm sure they all slept great last night. Maggie even took a nap this afternoon without too much arguing, which is VERY rare.
Let's have a party!!!
We had such a great time and Maggie LOVED the party. I still can't believe she's 4, I know, I know, kids grow up, but I swear this morning when I walked her into school I felt like I blinked and she looked 14. Yikes!
The pool was ready....Can you see Maggie? Her head is down at the very end of the pool. She was waiting for her friends, I bet she swam for an hour before the party started.
The towels were ready....
Grace didn't love swimming....
She prefered to be the life guard.
Hey Gracie, can I have a bite??

Poor Brandon...
Friday night Brandon went to dinner with us....of course Maggie requested that he sit by her. We were pretty much done eating when we heard "the noise" and saw the face. Arnie and I instantly knew what was happening, but Brandon had no idea. Within a fraction of a second Maggie was puking. Thankfully she didn't hit him (and he was done eating) but he looked pretty green. It didn't take him long to get out of his seat. After she was done, Maggie was fine, she always is. They made up later.....
We'll see if he ever agrees to eat with us again.
The rest of the weekend has been pretty uneventful. Just getting a few things done around the house, preparing for Maggie's bday party tomorrow and packing the camper for Disney.
Arnie and Maggie did some "tractoring" today....
and lots of playing....

What??
Yesterday, on our way home from Omaha, Maggie and I were talking about "the old days". She asked if we had cars when I was little, and I said yes. I told her we didn't have computers or the Internet when I was a kid. She quickly responded with, "What? How did you buy clothes? You mean you actually had to go to the store." Perceptive little bugger (or maybe I shop online too much). She just couldn't believe it when I told her we used to have to go to the store to buy clothes, books, pretty much everything. Thank goodness for Amazon, I'm not sure how people survived in a small town before it.
Tuesday, Grandpa surprised Maggie by coming to hand her new swing. He was here working on it when she got home from school. It's pretty awesome!
Thanks Grandpa!!

BIRTHDAY GIRL!!
Maggie was up early and ready to tell anyone who asked (or didn't) that SHE WAS FINALLY 4!
Surprise! Happy Birthday Gee Gee Gee!
She even looked older!
...and climbed better.
Too bad she didn't get any more presents....
At her request, Grandpa built a porch swing for the playhouse! She was so excited. It's awesome. Grandpa's going to come hang it later this week. More pictures to come.
Gracie likes the swing too!
A busy weekend, makes for a quiet ride home....well, sort of. Maggie slept, Gracie talked, sang, laughed, anything she could think of, except sleep!
Rain, Rain, Go Away....
Saturday we spent the day in the campground and Saturday evening we had dinner and a little birthday party for Maggie. All day we watched the radar and prayed that the storms would stay away. There were a few rain drops during dinner and a few more when we had cake and then the storm came. It never got too bad, but we didn't know what to expect so everyone headed home. It was a fun party and Maggie loved it, but I'm sorry we had to hurry everyone off.....I have enough stuff to make about a zillion smores, we never got to that.
It was a great day for an almost 4 year old!!
Maggie and I made a quick trip to the craft room at Mahoney. She did a great job painting a butterfly.
Maggie has been asking for a salt lick for months! Aunt Laura and Uncle Mark came through for her :) she was so excited...she can't wait for the deer to come lick it.
Maggie helped daddy make her bday ribs.
She asked about 100 times when Alex would be there. Thank goodness they came before the rain!!
"Hey, what are you doing on my Grandpa's lap??"
"At least I'm not in baby jail alone!"
Gracie took off in Oliver's cool ride....
Happy Birthday little girl!
"yum, yum....ice cream!"
We moved inside when it started to rain....
