The same???

I've been contemplating over the last week how it's possible that our lives have totally changed, yet stayed so exactly the same. We have all the same things going on, we've had first soccer games, riding lessons, KINDERGARTEN ROUND-UP, church, etc....all the usual 'life' stuff, but at the same time it's all a little different because we have this amazing little girl to take with us and our hearts are just a little more full then they were 2 weeks ago. It's pretty amazing and a little unreal for this Mama.
It hasn't dried out (or stopped raining) long enough for the hole for our house to be dug....Haddie and I are about to take control of the situation ourselves. They told us if it didn't rain they'd dig at the end of the week and the foundation people are ready to start Monday.....it's supposed to rain today, Thursday and Friday...I'm not holding my breath!

The girls both missed their first soccer games when we were at the hospital, but I feel like we made up for it last week.

Haddie's first soccer game.

Maggie's in a red jersey and blue shoes.

Haddie's 2nd soccer game :)
Last Wednesday was Kindergarten Round-up! I can't believe it's time to send Gracie to Kindergarten. She was SO excited. She picked out her outfit which of course included her teacher sweater and rainbow shoes, and was READY to go. She reminds me everyday that she gets to go to "real kindergarten" in 4 months.

I was worried about her getting upset when it was time to go to the classroom, but she kissed Haddie good-bye and followed Mrs. Marsden right down the hall.

After Kindergarten Round-up she picked Runza for lunch....she probably picked it for the ice cream!

Poor Haddie!

Haddie and I spent a little time in the studio last week, we need to go back out sometime this week and snap a few more  pictures of her teeny tinyness before she grows out of it.

You might be a 3rd child if.....you wake up in a barn (multiple times) before you're 2 weeks old!

Friday night we celebrated Passover with all the Robinson's. It was an abridged Seder, I'm not sure if that's because there were 7 small children or because Pop's attention span is shrinking :)

Haddie's First Seder

All 7 cousins- Lauren 3, Haddie 1 week, Gracie 5, Maggie 7, Sadie 9 months, Cooper & Ella 5

Gracie wanted to measure Lauren

This place is exhausting!
On Sunday Grandma and Grandpa came to spend the day with us. The girls loved the attention.
Reading to Grandpa.

We're supposed to have more soccer tonight (but we're also supposed to have more rain, surprise, surprise!), church tomorrow and then Thursday Haddie, Gracie and I have to go to Omaha for doctors appointments. I guess there is no rest to be had!

Haddie Lea....

We've only had her for 5 days but I already can't imagine a life before we knew her. In an attempt to make sure she's not the forgotten 3rd child, I'm going to try and post a few of her first pictures....unless of course she decides she needs to eat before I get done.
What Haddie is doing right now :)
Thursday morning (April 14th), we got up early and headed for the hospital. By 8:40 we had a beautiful baby girl. As soon as she was born the doctor held her up to Arnie and he quickly reported we were "3 for 3" :) Within moments they held her up for me to see.....she looked HUGE and perfect.

Mom & Dad were ready to meet their baby!

All cleaned up

Daddy gave her her first bottle...she was ready to eat!
We texted this picture to our parents and then I emailed it to Maggie's teacher. We didn't give any information, just that we were both ok and the baby couldn't wait to meet them. Apparently something went wrong with my text....Mom got to school to have lunch with Maggie and Mrs. Vanness mentioned what a pretty baby we had.....and mom hadn't seen the picture :( thankfully Mrs. Vanness was willing to share!
After school the girls headed for Omaha. When Arnie brought them up you could see the anticipation on their faces.....
Gracie was especially glad Haddie was a girl, she kept saying "I was right"

The girls quickly called Grandma and Pops to tell them Baby Chip was a girl.

They got to "help" the nurse give Haddie her first bath. I had the best nurses, they were all wonderful and I was
lucky enough to have the same day and night nurses 2 days in a row.

I wish we had a video of the girls running into the hall to tell me mom and dad it was a girl...my parents truly looked
shocked. It was really fun to watch. I'm so glad we didn't tell the girls in our initial email and waited until they were there
to share. Maggie was right, that's how it was supposed to be!

The PROUD big sisters!

The plan was to stay at the hospital until Sunday morning. Friday night I didn't sleep very well and decided I'd be way more comfortable at home. After consulting with the pediatrician and getting the ok from my doctor, we were cleared to leave as soon as Haddie passed her jaundice test. That took a little longer then we planned, but in the end she passed and we were outta there!!!!
They weighed her right before we left the hospital, she was down to 8lbs 1oz. We were surprised because Haddie
quickly perfected the art of eating, but it was too be expected and wasn't enough of a loss to be concerned.

Daddy was getting impatient waiting for our discharge orders, he took that opportunity to teach Haddie to sing.

Yah!!!! We're home, well at least to Grandma and Grandpa's home. I'm pretty sure if Reagan could role her
eyes, she would have :)

Saturday night after dinner we headed for home. Haddie didn't make a peep all the way to Norfolk....much to Gracie's dismay, she was just sure Haddie would need her help in the car :)
Haddie didn't sleep too well her first night home. She and Arnie spent most of the night on the couch, but she was ready to watch some TV with her sisters first thing in the morning.

It was a pretty lazy day at home, but we started to settle into a new normal. Maggie and Gracie were both a huge help and just love their baby sister so much.
Story time!

Haddie slept much better last night. She only got up to eat once in the night and has been pretty agreeable all day today. I think she and I were both a little relieved that the big girls had school today, she needed a little break.

"Mom, did they leave yet?"

We made it through our first outing successfully. Not a peep from Miss Haddie.
Were headed out shortly to get the girls at school. Gracie made me promise to bring Haddie in when I pick her up....better coat her in sanitizer and warn her about swarming preschoolers :)

We're so blessed and grateful to have Haddie. It was a long road to get here, but now that we have her, it all seems like nothing. She's starting to stir, I better get a bottle.
