"I dressed"

"I dressed all by self!!"

She was SO proud. I hated to fix it. (but I did!)

Her first run!

Maggie had a softball game last night. Miss Lauren told her she probably wouldn't have the 5 year olds batt since it was their first kid pitched game....BUT the other teams coaches were wonderful and suggested a kid pitch/coach pitch combo....so into the line-up she went. And she got a hit, and the scored! I'm not sure who had a bigger smile Maggie or her Daddy :) they were both pretty excited. After she scored she stood at home plate for a minute waiting to be told what to do...she finally got coaxed back to the dugout. She hit again her next at batt, but that time they got her out at first base.

I think her team won the game 12 to 10....she won't remember that part but she will remember her first run!

(Notice the first base coach and his happy dance.)

The Impact cheerleader was more interested in the slide and the dirt then the game :)

REAL golfer

Maggie has been going to Jr. Golf this week. She seems to be enjoying it, though she doesn't understand why they spend so much time on the putting green, she's ready to use her whacker!

Yesterday, when it was time to get dressed I gave her golf shorts and a golf shirt from her closet....

....when we got to the golf course she said, "Thanks for FINALLY dressing me like a REAL golfer Mom." Oy! Her teenage years could be long :)

I figure by the end of next week she'll be ready for the LPGA....or maybe the driving range with daddy.

PARTY!!

Today was Maggie's Birthday Party. She's been very patient for the 9 days since her Birthday, but she was SO excited it was finally here!

When I asked what she wanted to do this year for a party she said she'd like to have a play date with her friends and eat Jimmy John's on a picnic blanket. Sounds easy enough :) They were predicting severe storms here today, so we had to move the picnic party inside, but we managed. She and I are both lucky to have such great friends.  Several of my dearest friends, and the mom's of Maggie's dearest friends are teachers, so I LOVE summer when they are around during the day to play with us! Today was just the beginning of an awesome summer! Maggie loved the party and is totally worn out resting on the couch now. Gracie might sleep until tomorrow if I let her!

The "picnic baskets" all ready to go!

It wasn't quite like eating outside, but we moved the furniture and
had a living room picnic. The Birthday girl decided she should sit right in
the middle :)

Say "Jimmy John's"!

Maggie (and her friends) really love the bounce house, so we moved more
furniture and made room for it in the basement! It worked great, and they all
got lots of exercise.

We pulled a card out of the old Girl Scout handbook and everyone made a Sit-Upon.
The kids had a good time lacing and sewing. Corky (my girl scout leader) would be so proud!!

Duct Tape works on everything :)

The sit-upons were a perfect cushion for Popsicles on the porch.

YUM YUM!

I hope Maggie enjoyed her Birthday party as much as the rest of us did. Happy 5th Birthday Margaret!

CAMPING!

We finally made it out camping. We had a good time and the girls where happy to be back outside. It rained really hard 2 of the nights, so there was LOTS and LOTS of mud. The weather during the day was beautiful and we had rain boots to deal with the mud- so all in all it was GREAT! Gracie wants to sleep in the "camping" again tonight, she's not very happy about being back in her boring ol' bed.
Gracie's favorite wheels!

weeeee!! I wish we had room for a tree swing at home.

Oh Gracie!

The fresh air was good for Gracie, she took lots of long naps.

Saturday afternoon the girls and I went to the activity center for a little while. We
pretty much had the place to ourselves. I am TOO old to be climbing through those tubes.

"I do it by self!"

The girls were SO dirty! Lots of mud, but they didn't seem to notice. On Saturday night
Gracie wanted to take a shower with me (she's generally afraid of the shower). Half way through our shower the
hot water ran out, I had to hold her under water to get the soap all rinsed off, it was like trying to
hold on to an oily attacking monkey. She didn't even want to go back to the bathroom building after that.

Now that's an outfit!

Maggie's getting pretty good at Polish Horseshoes.

Can you tell who won the game and who's pouting?

Some kids want to watch tv and play computer games....mine
wants to hang rain boots in a tree :)

Gracie was having a bit of an attitude problem so she had
to sit at the table by herself for awhile after lunch. She is one
stubborn little girl!

Sunday night Carly and JJ (and Ben, Amy & Chelsea) came for a visit. It was so fun to have them
all there with us. They were all pretty tired by bed time.

Helping daddy pack up.
When we got home there was lots of muddy stuff to be power washed, but it was worth it. Hopefully it won't be long before we load it all up again.

Silly Gracie!

A few recent pictures of Gracie that I haven't posted.....
Thursday Gracie made a bird feeder...she doesn't understand why when she stands
under it and yells "food birdie food!" the birds don't come :)

Elsie's leash....

happy girl!

Gracie has decided what she wants us to call her :) I'm guessing when she's about 12 she'll wish she could take this back!
