Paint Show

We spent the weekend in Lincoln for a Paint Horse Show (paint horses are the ones with big bloches of white, like Honey). The girls both rode great and we had a good time. It’s a good thing we took the motorhome, Saturday night the girls were so tired I’m not sure we’d have been able to haul them to a hotel! Maggie showed in 13 or 14 classes each day, it’s a lot of work and a lot of waiting, but she loves it. She came home with the 13 and under Reserve High Point Champion prize. Gracie showed in 5 classes and was very VERY excited when she beat all 3 big girls from the barn in a walk/trot class on Saturday :)

Aunt Lori and Emma were kind enough to bring Papa for a little bit on Saturday afternoon. The girls were so proud to show him their horses!

The Edgeparke Team....

Haddie got to spend most of the weekend with Grandma & Grandpa, but they all came for the afternoon today.....nothing like lunch in a wagon filled with horse junk :)

Maybe if Harley knows the pattern Gracie doesn’t have too :)

School!!

I had to help with a teacher lunch at school today and Haddie got to go along. She thought she was BIG stuff having lunch with Maggie and playing with her sisters on the playground. They were pretty happy to have her there too!

A few more pictures just for fun.....

(Those are goggles, not sunglasses :))

I asked Haddie if she’d eaten dirt.....she said no.....I’m pretty sure that was a lie!

Mom of the year....

Gracie did a flip 2 weeks ago (on Haddie’s Birthday) and hurt her thumb. I kept telling her it would feel better soon....she kept complaining! Tuesday we finally went to the doctor. It appears she damaged the growth plate in her thumb.....oops! He said 2 weeks ago he’d have put a cast on it, but since she hadn’t done any additional damage in that time, we could try a brace for a couple weeks. When we got to the hand doctor her palms were full of gravel from jumping off the swing at recess....he suggested scheduling a standing appointment for this kid :)

A couple of Gracie’s recent art projects....

Zoo Day!

We had Norfolk Iron Family Day at the zoo on Sunday. The girls were great ambassadors for Norfolk Iron and we were lucky to have a warm sunny day. Haddie has never been to the zoo and she LOVED it. She didn’t understand why we could go see the monkeys and penguins again on Monday :)

Happy Birthday Papa and a few pictures....

Saturday morning we made a quick stop in Lincoln to wish Papa a Happy 87th Birthday! The girls were extra happy about the visit because they got to spend a little time with Cooper and Ella.

The Christmas playground was finally installed last week! The girls love it but we need a little warmer (or at least less windy) weather to really enjoy it!

Sometimes waking up isn’t Gracie’s favorite thing. She gets ready for school in the dark and didn’t appreciate how bright the kitchen was on Monday :)

The chickens keep on growing. They’re ready to move into their coop, but it needs to warm up a bit for them!
