Shark Tank here she comes....

Since Maggie's Birthday she was been doing lots of sewing. Her favorite thing to make is ice packs. She has named them "Maggie's Famous Ouch Packs" (clearly noted on the labels she printed :)), Gracie loves them and she's given lots as gifts.  Last week, Pops made an order....well all of the sudden it dawned on her she could sell them!  She WAY over charged Pop's but apparently he's willing to be scammed when it's by a cute 6 year old.

Friday she finished up the sewing....
......then we realized we were out of rice, so we had to run to the store....I told her since she was profiting off this set of ice packs, she had to buy the rice with her own money....her first response was, "I didn't know business was going to be so hard!"....but she got out some allowance and her purse and I think she thought she was pretty big stuff.

At the last minute she found one more fabric she liked and decided since it was such a big order she'd throw in a spare for free :) The MINUTE they were done she was ready to deliver them. She didn't want to "waste" 6 labels so she packaged them in a gift bag with one label. (I'm not exaggerating when I tell you these things....I wish I had taped the process).
Pop's was happy to pay up. (and Maggie, who very rarely spends ANY money, quickly tucked the cash away in her stash.) Arnie and I both tried to explain profit, business expense and reinvesting....but somewhere in translation it got a little lost! I'm a little worried that I might be loosing control of my sewing room/office.....it's the one space I'm not real happy to share...but she's got a business to run!

Maggie has BIG plans and a new prototype for her business this week.....a sneak peek will come soon....but let's just say if you need to keep cool during this weekends festivities....she's on it :)

Catcher!

Maggie has been asking to play catcher all season. Last night Coach Dad let her try it....

...she did great. She also had 2 outs at second base when she played shortstop! She was grinning from ear to ear!
We wrapped her scrapped leg in gauze and tape before the game. Unfortunately by after the game it was pretty stuck. There was lots of screaming when we pulled it off. Poor girl. This was the first one of my kids injuries that I've had a hard time looking at. I had to sit down and take a few deep breaths, I'm not sure how she toughed it out! She spent some time with the fan blowing on it and by this morning it was starting to scab over again. I'm afraid she's going to have quiet a scar and she will likely NEVER want to see gauze or tape again.

SHOWeR-K?

As in, we're going camping, don't forget to SHOWeR-K?.....no, actually it's our annual family camping trip....Schroeder, Hamilton, O'Brien, Westerfield, Robinson, Kleine...at Lake Shetak State Park.

Another trip is in the books. A great time was had by all. The kids LOVE having Hailie and Connor to play with non-stop for 4 days and miss them like crazy when we head home. We had good weather, way too much food, stayed up too late, and enjoyed great company. They have had lots of rain in Minnesota, so all the water made for LOTS of mosquitos. Poor Gracie got it the worst, but she's recovering.

silly, silly, silly kids!

Sleepover!!!

Maggie got a rocket for her birthday, so one day they (mostly Arnie) put it together
and the kids all launched it.

The first launch (or non-launch) was pretty uneventful.

....a little retooling....and....

.....blast off!!!!

Hailie and Connor brought the girls kites. They did pretty good flying them.

This is pretty much what Reagan did for the WHOLE trip.

so lazy she can't hold her own head up!

A little family softball.

Teaching Great-Grandma how to use a Rainbow loom.

Great-Grandma and all 5 of her greats!

COUSINS!

A one man parade.

Not only a chair, but a hat too!

Dad pulled the camper up for Aunt Joyce and Uncle Lee....people must have thought
he looked pretty crazy driving down the interstate.

Our last night there Gracie got attached by mosquitos, I stopped counting at 60, just on her face. Poor baby!

The last night Maggie had a scooter accident, she has the worst skinned leg I've ever seen.
She's handling it like a champ!

Just a little tip...someone told me to put bleach on Gracie's bites. I was reluctant but had to do something for her...so we tried it. I dabbed straight bleach on each bite with a q-tip. She immediately stopped scratching and by the time she woke up the next morning the bites looked a million times better. This is only 18 hours after the last picture. I will keep bleach in the camper from now on.
The camper is unloaded and clean. Almost everything is put away and we're back to our crazy lives. I'm so glad everyone took the time to make the trip. We all look forward to it and I hope it's a tradition we can continue for a long time!
