Back on the charts!

Gracie went for her one year check-up today and she's back on the charts. She's in the 96th% for both her height and weight. She weighs 26 lbs and is 32 inches tall. (just for a comparison Maggie was 24.5 lbs and 31" tall, when she was 1)

Grace needed 4 shots and had to have her blood tested. She wasn't a very happy camper when we left the doctors office, but she recovered quickly. Over the last week or so she's officially made the transition from formula to milk. Now that she's made the switch, I'll start working on taking away her bottle.....at least that's what I told the doctor. (Sounds like a nightmare to me!)

Yesterday we finally had our last appointment with the helmet doctor. He reviewed the before and after scans with me and after checking out Grace's head, officially said she's done!! In the time she had her helmet, her head grew 7mm, but the growth was completely restricted in the front and from side to side, so it was all applied to the back (flat) part. The biggest impact was in the symmetry of her face. Her forehead and cheeks were showing some variation before the helmet and now they match up perfectly! All in all, it was a good experience and I'm glad we did it. Grace didn't seem to be bothered by the helmet and when she's a teenager I hope she'll appreciate her round head and symmetrical face :)

Yesterday, Mom and Maggie ran to the mall quick. They had a little time before they needed to pick Uncle Deem up at school, so Maggie asked if they could ride the escellator. They rode and rode and rode, they went to different stores, they rode the big escellator in the middle of the mall, they did them all. That's why little kids need Grandma's!!! After they were done Maggie told my mom that was her special treat for the day :) Then they went to Panera and shared a couple of cookies.

Gracie still prefers to crawl but she'll take a few steps occasionally.

Maggie wrote Gracie's whole name on the driveway, all by herself, notice how she spelled her middle name :)

Tonight Maggie came up from the basement in this get-up...and asked me to take her "fancy picture"!
