keep up....

I didn't keep up with my posts while we were in Florida the way I hoped. So now I have lots of pictures and I'm not sure how to organize them. I'll split them into a few posts and see if I can get most of the ground covered.

Grace isn't very fond of this hat, but who goes to Disney and
comes home without mouse ears.

Anytime Gracie could break out of her stroller she was off...and someone
had to chase her all over.

Gracie was a trooper. She didn't fuss about being strapped into her stroller, being hot, being up
late...Disney is a tough place for a one year old, but she just rolled with it and took it all in.

Gracie was waving and Chip & Dale, so we thought we'd take her over there.
Once we got there, she wasn't as excited to see them.

Neither was her big sister. Maggie never did warm up to the
characters. She just doesn't like things in masks.

Apparently they were tired of waiting.

It rained a lot while we were there, but we could usually find a dry place to
wait it out. The down pours didn't last too long.

Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique.....

Yesterday was finally the day....Maggie was scheduled to be made into a "REAL" princess at 4:50....she was so excited. She's been asking since the minute we got here if it was time yet. I'm so glad we did it. I'm guessing it will be her favorite thing about the trip. They do an awesome job and she felt really special. The salon is right in Cinderella's castle. Right when she got there she received her royal invitation....

Then she got to pick her dress, shoes, wand and tiara and get dressed.

Her Fairy Godmother did the rest....

First, her hair....

Then her nails...
A little make-up and LOTS of glitter (I mean fairy dust).....

And then she was ready to look in the mirror....

After she got down she went and looked in the mirror several more times because she just couldn't believe it.

After your finished they send you next door for a princess photo shoot...and then Grandma, Grandpa, Uncle Deem, Aunt Laura and Uncle Mark appeared...so she got to make her Grand Entrance....

The first thing she wanted to do was ride the carousel, but she didn't want anyone to go with her, because she thought we needed to be on the side so the "princess could wave at us."

Grace needed her own wand....Grandpa was happy to oblige!

What else would a princess have for dinner....apples and a root beer float of course!

I think she had Grandma under a spell, this is about her 5th trip to the Magic Carpet ride....

Right before the electric parade....11pm, and princess Maggie was still going strong.

She loved the parade (it is really neat), lots of the characters noticed her. Pete (from Pete's Dragon) was sitting on to of his dragon, Maggie covered her ears because she was a little scared, Pete looked right at her and said (over his microphone) "Sleeping Beauty, don't be afraid, he's a nice dragon." She was pretty stunned, and she uncovered her ears.

It was a long parade, Uncle Mark and Daddy took turns being the princesses throne....both were covered in glitter afterwards.

Maggie wanted to be a princess "in the parade", so she and Arnie followed it down
the street and waved at all the people.

It was such a great day. I hope Maggie loved it as much as we all loved watching her enjoy it. She slept in her princess hair & tiara (I talked her out of the dress), there was a lot of goop in it, I'm hopeful that it will make it at least part way through today. She's going to be sad when it has to be washed out.

M...I..C..K..E..Y.....

We made it to Disney World. We stayed in Omaha on Friday night, got up early yesterday and boarded our flight, and were here by noon. We sent the truck and camper ahead of us with one of Dad's drivers, so we headed straight for the parking garage, found the truck 3 spots from the door and loaded the girls into their very own carseats. It was AWESOME! The disney campground is pretty much like everything else at Disney, very well done. We have great spots, there are nice pools a beach and tons of other things to do right here.

Maggie was bouncing OFF the walls to do something Disney....so last night we went and watched the light show on the water and the fireworks. This morning we headed for Magic Kingdom. I think she was a little overwhelmed at first, but by the time we headed back to the campground to cool off and have a little break, she seemed to be really enjoying it.

Grace is totally confused, and she has her moments....but for the most part she's doing great.

As we were landing she FINALLY gave up....so the last 10 min or so, were quiet.

Grace is only happy in the airplane when she can run around or sit by herself, every time we had to hold her she would FREAK out. I'm sure the people around us were thrilled. (I wonder if the driver would notice if we left her in the truck to ride home with him instead?)

When we came through the gate, Daisy was there. Maggie wanted to get her autograph, so we waited in line, and when it was our turn, she wanted run screaming the other way. Daisy tried to hug her, and she wanted nothing to do with that. She just wanted an autograph, no touching! We'll see if she decides to see any other characters while were here. I'm hoping for a picture with Minnie Mouse, but we'll see.

She LOVED the carousel and the tea cups.

So far Gracie's favorite thing about Disney World is definitely the spray fan. She spent most of the morning soaked, but it kept her happy!

The girls are resting now, hopefully they will both take good naps and we can go do a little more playing this evening when it isn't SO hot.

My pretty girls....

Sunday I finally took a few new pictures of my girls....Grace has yet to have any "one year" pictures taken and Maggie's been asking about when we can take some 4 year old pictures (you know because she looks SO different then when she was 3). We only had a few minutes to snap before a huge storm came, but we got a few good ones.....hopefully in the coming weeks I'll take a few more....

yep, 4 going on 14!

Happy Birthday Grandma!

Last night the girls and I drove to Omaha for Grandma Westerfield's birthday dinner. It was kind of a last minute decision, but neither of my kids were napping (and both desperately needed it), we had time and Maggie was so disappointed that we were going to stay home and miss Alex, Ellie and Oliver. So at 3:50 we hopped in the car.  It was totally worth it! The girls both slept all the way there, we had a great dinner, the kids had fun playing, and they watched a movie all the way home. On the way home Maggie said, "See Mom, I told you we should go." She was right!

I've said this before, but I'm so BLESSED to have 2 amazing Grandma's, who have been active participants in my entire life. I'm thankful that they are both "young" and healthy enough to be active in my girls lives as well. All Grandma's are special people but I tend to think mine are EXTRA special.

Somehow I didn't get a single picture of the birthday girl....but I did get these of the kids loving their dinner....

Grace had the last of her 3 day shots this morning. They've definitely helped her ears, I know they hurt like crazy, but I think it will be worth it tomorrow when we're flying.  Maggie doesn't like to be in the room when Grace gets her shots, so by today she'd made friends with all the nurses, knew how to get to some Barbie game on the admins computer and was upset when Grace was finished because she was "playing with her new friend" (one of the nurses).

This evening we will head back to Omaha, and tomorrow morning our Disney adventure begins. Our camper made it there last night, so as long as we get there without incident we're off to a good start.
