Peach...
I'm going to try an upload this video of Gracie, not sure if it'll work. This morning she walked around telling us "I'm a peach!" Then laughing hysterically :) She's going to be the class clown someday.....her poor teachers!

Summer is flying by...
We have had such a great summer, but it is truly flying by. This is really our last week of summer at home, next week we are on vacation, then as soon as we come home Maggie has her tonsil/adenoid surgery and I figure her recovery is about going to take us to the first day of school. SO CRAZY!!
I spent a lot of time last week working on stuff for Bible School. We started tonight. Maggie had a great time and Gracie even stayed and played with some friends. More on that in another post. For now I'll catch you up on last week....
We spent a couple days in Omaha....
Tuesday night as soon as we got home from Omaha, we headed for the Drive-In in Neligh. I wish we thought to go there (or had time to go there) more often. It really is a fun time. I wish I had taken a real camera, but all I had was my phone....
Wednesday the long awaited new swing-set arrived. The guys worked on putting it up all day while the girls had to watch from inside. It was about a thousand degrees out when they finished, but that wasn't going to stop the girls from playing...
This weekend we headed out with the camper. We've never camped at Willow Reservoir in Pierce, it's only about 20 miles from home, so we thought we'd give it a shot. It was a nice place, we'll go back. It rained for a while yesterday but we still had a nice time. After the really hot weather last week, I was expecting to be a bit miserable, but the temps were really nice, yesterday we wore sweatshirts most of the day...
We have a busy week ahead....say a prayer for Maggie, Tuesday is her last day of preschool, I think she's going to have a tough time saying goodbye.

Maggie made cookies "all by herself." She doesn't understand why she can't bake alone at home now....I told her I'd reconsider when she could reach the oven.
The best kind of picnic?? A cookies and milk picnic :)
On Tuesday Oliver came over for a bit and we finally got to meet Baby Tucker. He's a doll and he was a perfect little subject during his pictures. I haven't had a chance to look at them yet, but I'm sure they will be great.

Our version of the Bad News Bears :)
Maggie did SO good at her horse lesson on Wednesday. It was HOT and the barn was steamy, but I think she'd have stayed there all day. She is becoming a trotting machine, round and round her cones and all over the arena. I was really proud of how hard she was working.

Gracie had a slight wardrobe malfunction :) Miss Independent is determined to pull up her own pants (or panties) I guess this is the hazard!
Safety first, even when it comes to sidewalk chalk :)
Rain, Rain, GO AWAY!!
Apparently helmets are only necessary for chalk...

County Fair...
Last week was the Madison County Fair & Rodeo....I bet you can guess which part was most popular at our house :)
The girls and I spent most of the day there on Friday. We went early in the morning for the 4h horse show. Several girls that Maggie knows were showing their horses. Maggie LOVED it, Gracie was a little bored. Thankfully the grandstands were mostly empty so she could keep herself busy climbing all over. We've had a lot of questions about when Maggie can have her own horse, since seeing all the kids in the 4h show. She's counted her allowance several times, trying to decide if it's enough to buy one :) Thankfully you can't show at the fair until you're 8, so we have a few years until it really becomes a question.
Friday night we went back with Arnie for the Rodeo. This time the stands were packed, but thankfully we got to sit in the shade and the man next to us was very patient with Gracie. We stayed home on Saturday and Sunday evening we made a trip back to ride a few rides. Maggie had been so enamored with the horses that she hadn't even noticed the carnival. I thought it was strange she hadn't asked to go over Friday, but she said, "Wow, this is new!" When we walked in on Sunday :)
The fair is exhausting, I think I'm glad it's over until next summer.

Ridiculous!
What happens when daddy dresses you for the fair :)
Maggie ran into her friends Rory and Riley at the fair, so they all sat together to watch the bull riders!
"Hey Chelsea, wake up, there are rides to go on!! Wake up!!"
In line for the Ferris Wheel, Ben must have drawn the short straw, he got to go with them.

Little Visitor!
We got to keep Elsie for a few days this week. Laura has been working crazy hours, so we took it as the perfect opportunity to kidnap her. I'm sure her mom and dad missed her like crazy, but we had such a good time. I hope she isn't afraid to come back!
How can you not smile at this kid? She is so naughty and so funny, all at the same time :)
Cheese!!!
Farmer Maggie picked her first cucumber of the season, we've had 2 more already this week.
"HEY, you guys know she's trying to climb in MY high chair, right?? Save me!!"
"If I could just figure out this darn straw!!"
"These people are so weird!"
"First my high chair, now my bottle! Don't you people know eating is sacred??"
Gracie made a new friend at the game.
Maggie had a great hit and of course a couple of good slides :)
Tonight Carly and Maggie did a little dance for us. They were happy to tell us they were dancing poodles :)
