Jr Golf

*written 7/7 but backdated to 6/17

The 2nd and 3rd week of June both girls went to golf camp at the Country Club. Maggie loved playing golf and learning new things and Gracie loved an hour a day to play with her friends and be social. Jr Golf culminates in the Jr Club Championship tournament. Maggie has never played in it before and I assumed this year would be the same. I was surprised when she asked if she could play and I'm embarrassed to admit I tried to talk her out of it. I didn't figure she would do very well and I knew it would be a frustrating and hot couple of days. She stuck to her guns and told us she wanted to play. She signed up for the 9 hole tournament, they played 5 holes the first day and 4 the second. She LOVED it and had a great experience. The girls in her group were both older then her, but she didn't care. She ended up getting 2nd place (and won $30) and was so proud of herself! I was so proud of her too. She's tougher then I give her credit for. I envy her eagerness to try anything and to not be afraid of strangers or impressing anyone. She's a special one! Now she's caught the bug, she's trying to convince her dad to play in a parent/child tournament in a couple of weeks.

Can you see Haddie? She had lots of help to take her on walks while we waited for the big kids to finish :)

Chipping to the 18th green.

All done!

Haddie's 1st camping trip.

*written July 7th, backdated to June 5th

We wanted to take a short camping trip a little closer to home before we headed out for the long trip to Minnesota. So we loaded up the camper (for a little person Haddie needs ALOT of stuff!) and headed for Camp Merrill.

Haddie survived her first trip in the camper. I think she was a little confused about why we left our comfortable home for the outdoors, but she'll catch on :) Wrigley also made her maiden voyage, while our camper is plenty big, adding a baby and talking 2 dogs certainly makes it feel smaller!

Haddie's newborn pictures.....

Any photographer this slow should be fired :) I had all these lists of ideas for Haddie's newborn pictures. She was a tough client and ultimately we didn't spend the hours in the studio I had hoped, but thankfully we got a few beautiful images of her tinyness to help us remember what a miracle she is.....

Keeping up!

I feel like I'm running at a sprint all the time to keep up with everything around here. Isn't summer supposed to be relaxing? Having the girls home all the time has been an adjustment and I feel like I'm not "playing" with them as much as I should be. Haddie is much fussier then I ever remember the big girls being and it takes a toll on my ability to get things done. We've had 2 REALLY good days this week, nights where she slept all night and days where she spent more time smiling then screaming....I made the mistake of thinking this was going to last forever. Hopefully it will slowly become our new normal. Last night and today have been back to more fussing and discomfort, but it doesn't seem quiet as bad as before. We made a quick trip the chiropractor and now she's sleeping comfortably. Hopefully that will last. I hate when she's hurting.

Gracie has been anxious to learn to ride her bike without training wheels, so Monday we took the bikes to the office. In true Gracie fashion once we got there, she wanted nothing to do with it. Arnie was working hard to get her to try. At the last minute I remembered that she had been begging for a trip to Hobby Lobby to buy herself a stuffed panda....I told her whenever she learned to ride her bike, we'd go. About 4 minutes later she had mastered riding without her training wheels and then she rode and rode..... Now she says she's ready to keep up with the big kids AND she has a little stuffed panda (I hate stuffed animals!) Here is a video......

I had a retirement party to throw last week so the girls all went to spend a couple of nights with Grandma and Grandpa. I missed them a lot but it was such a nice break and of course they had the best time ever!

Not a great picture, but I think she looks just like Papa in this picture, she just needs one of his goofy visors!

I think the girls spent most of the 3 days at Grandma and Grandpas in the pool! It didn't take long before Gracie shed her life jacket and
remembered that she's a swimmer now.

Oh Wrigley! She managed to get the swing unplugged from the wall and tied around her waist and leg in less
then 4 minutes! She wasn't amused that I went to get the camera before I untangled her.

I'm pretty sure Breezy just realized she's never going to get to retire!

This girl and her goals! We've decided we're going to train together for a 5k, since we can't do as much biking this summer with Haddie.
Once she gets something in her head she is relentless :) She's been dragging me out of bed to run all week. Arnie's out of town tonight and she's
already asking if I think we'll be able to go when he gets back to town tomorrow since we won't be able to go early.

Gracie is SO FUNNY!

Gracie was willing to share her panda, but only for a minute and with strict instructions about not spitting up on it.
Gracie told Maggie her Panda only eats bamboo...Maggie asked, "where do you get bamboo?"....Gracie said "I can get it
anywhere, it's imaginary!" hahahahahahaha!

At 6 weeks old I'd venture a guess that she is among the youngest Global Entry and TSA Precheck approved
"people" in the country. Now we just need to plan a trip, I'm itching to travel and can't wait to master it with all 3 girls.

Story time with Gracie. I'm pretty sure she's reading Wrigley a story about a cat who wants
to be a bunny. I hope Wrigley doesn't start hopping.

Bless her heart, last night Maggie made us dinner. She made Potato Taco's, apparently they are her
specialty (just ask her). She did great, even Gracie liked them (and she doesn't eat anything willingly!)

After rain and more rain and more rain, today they FINALLY got to start framing the footings for our house. I haven't been back over there since this morning, but I've heard rumor there has even been some concrete poured!!! YAH!

I decided I better include a picture of Haddie screaming. I said she was fussy and then filled this post
with pictures or her smiling.....there is lots of this too, but hopefully it's becoming less and less frequent. And I'm hopeful that in a
few months time we'll block this image and remember all the happy smiles.
