Cabo with Elsie (part 2)

After a week in Cabo, Laura and Elsie came to stay with us and Arnie headed home. We were sorry to see him go, but we had a great girls week!

Who says I don't work while I'm in Cabo??..sometimes I even have to scale the fireplace to fix the TV!

Pretty sure we at them out of popsicles while we were there.

Movie night! We watched Annie.....they sang "It's a Hard Knock Life" over and over. Irony???

"Mommy, send daddy a picture of my new wedding ring!"

Ice Cream for Dinner!!!!

We had a one of the water taxi drivers take us out in the marina to look for the giant Sea Lion that chases the boats.
He found us several sea lions and he had tortillas that the kids threw in the water and the fish came like crazy. I
have a feeling that won't be our last water taxi ride!

Here fishy fishy!

Ole, Ole!

This Great Dane puppy was hanging out at the barn, Gracie especially liked her because her
name was Gracie :)

Gracie got to go on her first trail ride this trip. She was on cloud nine. She specifically
asked Valente for a fast white horse, and he was happy to oblige. She rode the last day we were there...it was probably
a good thing or she'd have begged to get back on every day.

The girls took Aunt Laura on a trail ride.

"Sure, you try my sucker and I'll try yours."

Night, Night little girls!

"It's a hard knock life for us." :)

Maggie and the Cabo kids class, she loves getting to ride with an arena full of people. When she
rides Jude she's almost always the only person on a horse, in Cabo there are always several people riding and
she loves the company.

She wanted me to take a picture of her and "Hollywood" because she knows
I love paint horses. Maggie suggested I bring her home :)

seriously....what are we going to do with her????
See ya later Cabo, hopefully we'll be back soon. I will always have a special place in my heart for all the memories I've had the opportunity to make with the girls at the beach.

Cabo! (part 1)

We left on Memorial Day for our first trip back to Cabo since the hurricane. We had a great time and it was so nice to see our friends.

It's different there now. Lots of the hotels still haven't reopened, there are buildings that appear to have not been touched since the storm ripped through and the people are just a touch less happy. While we were there the threat of another hurricane was looming and people were nervous. Thankfully it weakened and didn't do any damage.

It didn't take us long to find our old routine....and as always it was HARD to come home. Gracie has decided she's ready to live there and Maggie still says she couldn't move their full time.....but she's considering part-time :)

Going back to Cuadra SanFrancisco was like walking back into a great friends house. They're a
truly wonderful family and we so enjoy our time there. Not having Shakira there was hard, but Maggie got the
chance to ride 4 horses while she was there and she loved them all. Two of the days we were there, Valente invited Maggie to come back in the evening for classes he was teaching, so somehow in 8 days she managed to have 10 lessons and a trail ride :) She's got it rough......she'd MUCH rather be at this hot dusty barn then on the beach.

Even on vacation Gracie spends hours hanging out 'in' a barn!

Somebody else stole Maggie's name for their golf cart.

Maggie spent about 20 minutes learning to get up on this surf board in the pool, then she told
me she thought she was ready to go take a lesson in the ocean the next day.......Um, probably not, maybe when she's
a teenager!

Some people told us about an awesome swimming teacher, so we hired him to come work
with the girls. What we didn't know was that he spoke NO English. I was sure it would
be a disaster with Gracie.....she proved me wrong. She loved him and spent 30 minutes every day giggling and
learning to swim with him. It was amazing to watch. Just the other day I told her she had swim lessons next week
here in Norfolk, she asked if Mr. Raul would be there to help her :)

She's trouble! One day she told us "if Lauren was here, we would sneak out at midnight
and drive the golf cart to the beach." That's funny when she's 4, somehow I think it will be less
funny when she's 14!

WHOA!

Whoa, I'm behind! I'm going to attempt to catch up with mostly pictures....hopefully I can remember the high points of the last month.....there have been SO many!

Right after Maggie's Birthday, we headed to Omaha for Uncle Vadim's Graduation! I'd be lying if I said there weren't days I wondered if he'd actually graduate, BUT he did and we couldn't be more proud of him for it. We had a fun weekend celebrating him.....
"Helping" Grandma get ready for the party!

Deem got golf clubs and lessons....Arnie better be working on his game!

At the party we all got to meet our new cousin Madeline for the first time!

Congrats Deem! Mom and Dad are almost empty nesters.......(Again!)
