SNOW!

Maggie has been wishing for snow all winter. We haven't had much...but finally last week we got some!!!

As soon as there was enough snow for a snow angel, Maggie was out the door.

Gracie only needed to be out there for about 45 seconds before she decided she'd
rather watch Maggie from the window.

Maggie put a bucket in the backyard and went to measure the snow
every few minutes. By Friday morning she had to unbury her bucket.

Gracie likes her snow pants and mittens, but she prefers to wear them inside.

Grandpa got distracted from his shoveling to build a castle.
Friday afternoon we decided to try a little sledding (well Maggie, Grandma and Grandpa went sledding, Gracie and I watched from the car).
Again, Grace put up with the snow for about 2 minutes, then she'd had enough,
She must be a warm weather kid! So much for a spring ski trip :)

WIPE OUT!! Notice their sled is missing....

Even Grandma did some sledding!

This was Gracie's one and only ride down the hill, she screamed the whole way.

So happy!

Gracie liked hanging out in the car watching a movie better.
It's been pretty warm and sunny all weekend, a lot of the snow is already gone. Maybe we'll get a little more this week. I'm sort of hoping we're done and spring will be here soon, but don't tell Maggie!

play, play, play...

The weather today has been beautiful and everyone seems to be feeling better, so we enjoyed being outside. It sounds like there may be a big snowstorm on the horizon, but you'd never know it by our 60 degree temps.
Maggie is starting to get the hang of the swinging monkey bars, it won't take much longer!

Gracie's car needed a little gas :)

All 3 of my girls!

Yee Haw!!

She sure does have her own fashion sense! (Could this picture be more PINK!)
This weekend was the Annual Lions Club Pancake Feed, it's a BIG deal around here....Maggie is happy to tell you that Pop's was 6 the year of the first one.

It was a BIG weekend around here, besides pancakes, Friday night was the last home Panther game of the season....
They get an A for effort on their "N" making skills.

After the game we played in the high school fitness center. Schools sure didn't look
like this when I graduated.

Team work, Lauren and Gracie had to try elipticaling together :)

Thursday afternoon, Maggie seemed to be feeling a little better, so we got in the car and headed for Omaha. We had a Valentine dinner at Grandma and Grandpas, went to swim lessons and did some playing.
I made Maggie take a puke bucket in the car, just in case. Apparently she
wanted to keep it close by :)

Grandpa made some cool tic-tack-toe pieces for the tile floor.

I opened up the house today hoping to air out all the germs....let's hope it worked!

Sad little Valentine....

Maggie is one sad little Valentine this morning. She got sick at church last night and now her fever is 102, so no school party for her :( Thankfully, they had to bring in their boxes and Valentine's yesterday, so she got to show her friends her Tractor Box and her Valentine's are there, so after lunch we will run pick up her box o' Valentines.
Daddy sent her flowers, so that is helping cheer her up. She's been carrying
them from room to room with her, so she can "enjoy" them.

Yesterday afternoon Maggie got in a little trouble for not listening, she was supposed to be grounded from kid tv for today.....what a terrible day to be sick! So we negotiated a new deal, she gets to watch a little tv while she rests today, but she had to trade it for 2 days of no tv when she's better. It was a tough decision for her. I felt like the meanest mom ever but hopefully she'll listen better next time. When we were discussing our new deal she put on her big puppy dog eyes and said, "Mom, you know why I didn't listen, because I was already starting to feel the germs." Nice try!

It's seems like it's been a LONG week at our house. Arnie has had lots of meetings (hiring a new Superintendent is hard work), so we've had lots (read TOO MUCH) girl time. Maggie has been ok, until last night. Gracie has been REALLY whinny. I was worried she was the one getting sick. I don't know what's going on with her, I really hope it's not the terrible 2's....I definitely don't have the patience for a whole year of this.
Gracie is a baby doll hoarder....I think there were 6 in her bed last night. She doesn't
seem to mess with them so I just don't fight with her about it. She may need a bigger bed soon.
Happy Valentine's Day too all! I sure hope the groundhog was right and spring is almost here, I need to open up this house and let the germs out.

Lots of heart...

There has been lots of Valentine's Day preparation and fun going on around here.

Maggie & Grandma (and reluctantly Grandpa) embarked on their annual Valentine Box building adventure while we were in Omaha on Friday and Saturday. It turned out awesome! It's going to be hard for her to wait until Thursday to take it to school. She is the proud owner of one amazing John Deere Valentine Box.....

You know it is a serious project when it requires a saw and eye protection :)

There has also been cookie decorating....
 Card making...
We could also call this Gracie painting. Not sure what had more ink, her or the paper.

...and this afternoon Maggie's softball team had a Valentine Party at practice!!
....No they weren't about to be arrested. Their really great coach, is also a
Sheriff and they had practice over his lunch today.

Also, a few Maggie funnies from this weekend....
Today she showed up in my office, and said "Mom, look at my get up!"
Friday, on our drive to home, I overheard the following: "Gracie, when I'm a grown-up, I'm going to own a pony. I'll give you a gift card so you can come ride it."

Maggie also told my dad this weekend, "Don't worry Grandpa, I love you just the way you are." hmmmm....I wonder when she meant by that.

Little Preacher...

Here is a little video of Grace and her "AMEN" angel. It's pretty quite but when she's sitting quietly, he's saying the prayer. Oh ya, and apparently he had to go potty, because she has him sitting on the doll toilet while he prays :)

She does this over and over and over....

I hope he's right....

....the ground hog, that is. He says spring is coming!!!!  It felt like it yesterday.  Maggie and Carly spent a couple of hours outside. It was so nice to send them out, they cleaned the playhouse and then played "tornado"...they took flashlights, plastic food and blankets and pretended to wait out a storm :) so glad they have great imaginations!

A little Super Bowl picnic.
The girls were really excited to see Beyonce and her "dancing girls" at half time. I'm not sure
it was completely appropriate. Thankfully they just wanted to dance like her, not dress
like her.
The girls and I headed to Omaha on Thursday and spent the weekend there (Arnie came down on Friday). We celebrated Grandpa's Birthday, ran a few errands and relaxed.
Princess Gracie was ready for the drive :) She's never really been a hat
kid, but lately she seems to have something on her head all the time.

Uh Oh! Can you imagine what he might be teaching them??

Gracie and Grandma were a little stir crazy so they took a (very stylish) walk around
the block.

Gracie loves Elsie. She's working on being gentle (she definitely hasn't perfected
the skill yet). Elsie likes watching the big girls.

Peek-A-Boo!!

Happy Birthday Grandpa!
Great-Grandma gave the girls these little angels that say a bedtime prayer. Gracie has pushed the button somewhere near a thousand times since Saturday. At the end of the prayer the Angel says "Amen".....now Gracie says "Amen" at the end of everything. We just finished reading a couple of books as I closed each one, she looked up at me and said "Amen". Good thing God has a sense of humor!
