She did great!

Grace did great this morning. It's no secret that Little Miss Grace doesn't like to be touched, messed with, snuggled, etc. Once the nurse figured out that she wasn't just going to calmly snuggle with me in the hospital room, things got better. She wasn't very happy about heading back to the operating room with the nurse (who can blame her!) and it took us a little while to get her calmed down when she got back to us, but the surgery went great.

Pretty happy for 6am....

In her tiny little hospital issue gown....

Once we got done with all the questions, we went to the playroom, she thought that was great....

After they gave her some medicine she couldn't be on her feet anymore, so no more playroom, instead we just walked laps (lots and lots of laps) while we waited.

After surgery, she didn't want to be held, so daddy did more laps (she was too groggy for the wagon).

Not quiet as happy for the ride home....

After a long nap she was up and playing. Her ears are still a little sore and she's not totally herself, but she's playing and eating. By tomorrow I think she'll be back to herself (and her ears won't hurt anymore!)

Pre-op

Grace had her Pre-op physical tonight, she thought she'd just go ahead and take care of it, why wait for the doctor?? :)

We will report to the hospital at 6:30am tomorrow an hopefully will have the tubes and be done and gone by mid morning. Say a prayer for quick and uneventful surgery!

Homework...

Maggie came home from school today with homework. She's never done that before. It was a sheet of paper with 4 letters written across the left side. I asked what she was supposed to do and she told me she needed to practice those letters tonight. I asked why and she said, "my teacher says my pencil has a mind of it's own when I write these letters." Considering that she's barely 4, I suppose I'll let it slide this time :) she did her homework and even a little extra credit.....the letters, in case your curious, were lowercase a, g, t and e.

Tonight we went for another water park visit. It didn't get as hot today as they were predicting, and it's REALLY windy, so it was a bit chilly at times that didn't detour our little fish!

Maggie decided tonight was the night to conquer the diving board....she did it, over and over and over. Not long after these pictures the life guard told her she couldn't wear her life jacket on the board, that didn't slow her down any. She just dropped it and kept on going.

Come on Carly, come jump with me....

Daddy hug!!

iPhone pictures

I had a REALLY long baby session yesterday, I guess that was all the camera I wanted to use for the day. I took several pictures of the girls but they were all with my phone, so please excuse the quality.

Maggie has been sleeping in a little lately, so yesterday I was surprised to find her on the steps. When I asked what she was doing she said she was making Hannah and Reagan play Red Light/Green Light to get to the bottom of the steps. Poor dogs, they actually seemed to be playing along.

Silly Girls....

The gymnastics building flooded during our big storm in April. All of the mats had to be hauled out and replaced. So, last night was Maggie's first class in a few months. She was SO excited to wear her "gymnastics uniform" for the first time. She wanted to put it on first thing in the morning (for a 5:30PM class).

Gracie and Carly enjoyed the new mats too....

This morning on the news they mentioned that it would likely be near 105 degrees in Norfolk at 8pm tonight! YIKES, I think we're in for a hot one. There may be some swimming in our future!

Father's Day!

I can't believe I forgot to post on Father's Day! It's been a busy few days around here. We had a great day. My dad was still traveling, so we really missed him, but we got to see lots of the "dads" in our lives.

Maggie made Arnie some fire starters, for camping, she was so excited for him to open them!!!

Grandma Lea and Papa were in Norfolk for the day, so we got to have lunch and play with them for awhile in the afternoon. Sunday evening one of Papa's Magician friends from Las Vegas was performing in Norfolk. Maggie was a little skeptical but she warmed up and really enjoyed the show. She even went and got his autograph after it was over.

My girls have lots of great men in their lives, they are truly blessed. They have the best daddy, 2 amazing grandpa's, a wonderful great-papa and lots of great uncles (and a cool "big brother".)

Happy Father's Day to all!

Gracie's BIG day...

It's been a big day for Gracie. This morning I caught her trying to escape from her crib...she didn't make it all the way, but she was straddling the top rail when I got to her....
....so I lowered the mattress. She thought it was pretty funny at first, then she tried to swing her leg up over the top and realized she couldn't reach.

And if making her crib into a jail wasn't enough, this afternoon I packed up all the bottles. That's it, we are officially a bottle free house. She's gone to bed the last 2 nights without it and taken both of her naps today, no bottle. I was dreading breaking her of the habit, but she took it like a champ. Let's hope she keeps it up.

Grace is getting a couple of new teeth and this Thursday she gets tubes in her ears....so it could be kind of a crummy week for her. Hopefully it will go quickly and uneventfully.

On another note, Maggie was helping Arnie unload the truck the other night....don't you love her outfit?? (she sure does!!)

Here, there and everywhere....

It's been a busy few days since we got home from Florida. I made a last minute trip to Denver with my Grandma and Aunt Irma on Tuesday and Wednesday. Uncle Gail is in the hospital there and they were really anxious to visit with him, as he's in very poor health. While they were at the hospital, I had a little time to do some shopping. It's amazing how much ground you can cover when you don't have a stroller or 2 little girls with you. We were there under fairly sad circumstances, but I really enjoyed the trip. I don't very often get to spend much uninterrupted time with my Grandma, I got to hear lots of stories about when they were kids and their family.  I know what it meant to them to be there and I was glad to be a part of it.
Grandma & Aunt Irma drove to Norfolk Monday evening, then Tuesday morning we
flew to Greeley with some people from Norfolk Iron, then drove them from Greeley to Denver.
Last night after I got back, we headed for the new Norfolk water park. It officially opens today, but we had a chance to preview it. It's awesome! I'm so thankful to have it in our community and know that we will get zillions of hours of use out of it in the next 18 years. Maggie was a little disappointed that she's too short for the big slides, but the kid area is amazing she quickly forgot.

YAH!!! Haylee, Jarrett and Lauren were there too. It's always more
fun to play when you find a friend!

I'm not sure what Lauren and Gracie were gaurding, but they were
sure having fun doing it.
