Rain, Rain, GO AWAY!

It's a good thing we made good use of our outdoor time on Friday, because after that, it never stopped raining.....and raining....and raining.

There are hazards to being the baby sister....

The girls had a good time playing. They're really getting good at entertaining each other and playing together. Maggie is a really sweet big sister.

Gracie didn't really know what to think of the rain, she's probably never seen that much of it. We did a little dancing in it. After we went out once she asked over and over.

Saturday afternoon I had to prove to Arnie and Dick that I was an ace shooter. When we told Maggie we were going to go shoot, she asked, "at what? Animals?" I told her we'd use bulls-eyes to shoot at.....it seemed like a simple answer....surprise, surprise, she had about a hundred more questions. First and most important, "how do they get the eyes out of the bulls?"

Sunday, Maggie asked if we could go to the "PAG Store....you know the one with golf stuff." Well, you don't have to ask Dick and Arnie twice....off we headed for the PGA store.

That's right, testing clubs at 4 and a half! Apparently her first set of clubs is too short. At this rate she'll have more sets of clubs then I've had by the age of 6, she must be trying to rival daddy and Pops :) She better get her tour card at 18 after all this!

After our trip to the store Maggie was really anxious to go do some golfing, she checked every few minutes to see if the rain stopped.

Late in the afternoon, it finally stopped for a few minutes. Maggie, Pops and Daddy made a trip to the practice green. They got a little playing in before the rain started again. While Maggie was putting, she got to meet "Mr. Bubba" (Bubba Watson, Pro golfer, for our non-golf family). Unfortunately she wouldn't let her daddy take her picture with him. Hopefully he'll win the Phoenix Open this week and she'll get to see him on TV.

Monday morning it was STILL raining, but stopped just long enough for a bike ride before we headed for the airport.

Maggie was really excited that we let her ride in Pops "fast car" on the way to the airport.

The weather was cruddy, but we still had a great trip. Grandma and Pops are always great hosts and we love spending time with them.

Busy Day....

It's been a busy 24 hours. Yesterday we were in Norfolk where it was freezing and today we're in Arizona. We sure know how to pack the most into our vacations....

Our kids should be an Apple commercial......

Grace had to take a break to feed her baby...

We've been for several walks and.....

.....bike rides.

While the boys played golf the girls went and checked out a horse ranch... Grace really liked the helmet, the horse was another story.

Maggie LOVED it. (surprise, surprise)

Gracie didn't!

While Grace napped Maggie drug Gramma and Pops up Pinnacle Peak....

.....then it was time to take Lucy to the dog park.

On the way home we stopped at the new house so Maggie could pick out her bedroom. She hopes it's inside before she sleeps in it.

We had some supper and then just in case we had energy left we played some iPad games before bed. We're all beat, except Maggie she says she's ready for more!

I'm not sure what's left for tomorrow, but I'm sure we'll find something to do.

My girls....

It's been a long time since I had the girls out in the studio....for my own sanity I took them one at a time....maybe I'll have some of those sweet "lovey sister" pictures when they are a little bigger.

Note to self, NEVER EVER let Maggie wear that outfit again, she looks much to grown up! Where is the little girl??

Margaret???

The current disagreement (or probably one of several) in our house is Margaret or Maggie? Maggie has decided that she doesn't want to be Maggie anymore, she wants to be Margaret. She went so far as to learn how to spell it and start putting it on all of her papers at school this week. I told her I'm her Mom, so I get to decide what I'm going to call her and for now I'm not willing to let go of Maggie....I always assumed someday she might decide she was too grown up to be Maggie....I just didn't ever guess it would be at 4 and a half :) Hopefully it's just a phase!

This week has been busy as usual. Gracie and I have both been fighting a little bit of the crud that's going around, but thankfully we seem to be recovering.

Gracie has been making some interesting fashion choices this week :)
"Reagan, Do you like my outfit? HELLO....Do you hear me??"
She found this hat in Maggie's room and she's been
wearing it all week (usually backwards or sideways).
My group of kids at church this month is doing science experiments, so
Maggie and I have been practicing them at home. She used most of a bottle of
vinegar this week making things "explode".
Thursday night the boys basketball team came to help me fill backpacks. Maggie
was the self appointed manager of the project and Carly was her deputy. She made
sure all the boys knew to ask her if they had any questions :)
Good night girls!
We made a quick trip to Omaha Friday for swim lessons. Poor Elsie!
Yesterday it was in the 50's here. Maggie road her bike, took her
Gator to the mailbox and she and Arnie did some outside choirs.
Not bad for mid-January!
Gracie was a little worn out, so she and I mostly took it easy inside. Too
bad we missed the good weather (it's 10 degrees today), but hopefully she's
feeling better after a little rest. Notice, before she laid down on the couch she
put on her nice boots, gotta look good :)

It's official...

...Arnie is now a School Board Member. He has a name plate, a badge and a whole bunch of work to do.
During his oath he had to swear not to attempt to overthrow the Government
of the United States or the State of Nebraska??  Seems like a bit of overkill....
I thought it was important for the girls to see Arnie sworn in, they thought it was important to take their babies....

By the looks of it, you'd think we were there all night. I think we really only stayed about 20 min.

Gracie wasn't letting Maggie concentrate, so she had to move down and sit by herself.
